Back by popular demand, Neisha & Dylan at week 2

Back by popular demand, Neisha & Dylan at week 2.

Gosh, where to begin. With the limited amount of sleep we have experienced over the last 2 weeks, it seems like a single day blurred together rather than 2 full weeks. Neisha & Dylan are growing and changing each day. Just when we think we've got a handle on feeding time or amount something new appears, which keeps us on our toes.

Highlights:

  1. Lindsay's induction to fatherhood - Neisha seems to prefer Daddy for her diaper masterpieces. From all of her first diapers to projectile explosions. She has this sweet innocent face which slowly turns red and then the rumbling begins, followed by a very satisfied smile. Those are the easy ones. This week she nailed Daddy at 1 1/2 feet in the middle of a diaper change.
  2. Neisha debuts her strength, arm escape tricks and impatience - Neisha can do a full arm push-up from your chest lifting her head. She also can get her arms out of a full swaddle of 4 layers and does not rest until she does. Which brings us to the Neisha Growl.... used frequently to communicate her displeasure.
  3. Dylan puts down the food and grows - Dylan regained his birth weight and some. On Monday he weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz and is now 21 in (20 in at birth). While the doctor says height is not always accurate, he is now fitting into 0-3 month for the length while he drowns in the body area.
  4. Dylan shows tolerance - Neisha is our fire alarm, whereas Dylan wakes up slowly, stretching and then deciding to wake up without incident.
  5. Doctor gives Dylan and Neisha a healthy normal rating - We now are on a monthly peds visit vs. the 2-4 day check up. Neisha weighs 6 lbs. 2 oz and is now 18 3/4 in. Dylan and Neisha are still considered premies... (their due date is 31 Dec 08) ...
  6. Mowgli tolerates our new roommates - He is starting to figure out these little ones are here to stay.
  7. Family Visitors - Matt, Jess, Weston, Lily, Monte, Mason and Tasha.
I'm sure we've missed something, we continue to enjoy parenthood and are slowly adapting to life with 2 newborns.

We love you and wish you and yours a very happy holiday season!

Love,
Karey, Lindsay, Mowgli, Neisha and Dylan
