Baby Crack!

With Neisha & Dylan cruising through the 4th month of life we decided that is was in the best interest of all of us to provide additional activities. In the beginning, the babies cried for specific reasons, "I'm hungry", "I'm wet/poopy", "I'm cold" and/or "I'm tired". After awhile we clued in to the subtle difference between each cry and who was actually doing the crying. We are starting to see new cries and other worthy vocalizations.

Dylan's cry pulls at your heart strings. He rarely does it unless something concerns him. It actually starts out like a slight change in mood. He gives you the benefit of the doubt (waits about 5 mins) to see if you caught the cue, if you've missed it, he slowly escalates. Tears (real alligator ones) well up in his eyes and he lets out the "ma...." sound which turns into a brief melt down. The whole time you think, the world has come to an end and I have failed to complete the required task in the allotted amount of time. I laugh, who does this remind me of? Daddy!

Neisha's cry calls you to attention. Used frequently along with other "growls" to show her dissatisfaction. Neisha needs her sleep, if she gets it, she is happy, if she doesn't ... watch out. Neisha is also a social bug, she finds pleasure in hanging out, entertaining and being with people. She plays to the crowd and has a smile which lights up the room.

Survival cries have been supplemented by "I'm bored" and "I'm frustrated" . Thank heavens for good friends and parenting insights. We got our hands on "baby crack" --- Baby Einstein, Rafi and Disney music.

Watching Dyaln and Neisha on Baby Mozart and Baby Beethoven is pure joy and entertainment. The colorful objects timed to the all time classics of classical music is a home run every time. One has to be careful to not over stimulate them, the first day I could see we needed to set times for the experience along with belly time and other activities, otherwise we would have addicts!
